Course description:

This course is suitable for people seeking to develop a career or undertake further studies in the computer and electronic industries. Students will gain a sound background and theoretical application of hardware and software components of modern computing systems, including analysis, diagnosis, fault finding and repair of computer systems and equipment; primary planning, analysis and design, focused on complex computer systems related to the hardware, software and their inter-relationships; identifying customer and client needs and commissioning of advanced computer systems and equipment including local area networks, wide area networks and the Internet environment.

Entry requirements:

Students should have completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent, including maths and they should have completed the Swinburne English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Level 2 program with a teacher's recommendation for the required level of study or obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0 or a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5; or a TOEFL (Computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with Written Writing score of 4.5) or a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 20.

Attach the necessary documents such as certified copies of previous academic results, any other relevant documents, i.e. letters from schools or employers, folio (for Design or Performing Arts courses, excluding Certificate IV Design), if they are applying for advanced standing/credit transfers, include certified and translated (English) copies of the syllabus from the previous/current study program.
