Course description:
This course is suitable for people seeking to develop a career or undertake further studies in the computer and electronic industries. Students will gain a broad background in electronics, with an emphasis on embedded controllers, data array technologies, photonics, computer hardware interfacing, RF technologies, and other areas. The skills attained will also include analysis, diagnosis, fault finding and repair of electronic equipment and systems; primary planning, analysis and design, focused on complex electronic systems related to the hardware, control software and their inter-relationships; identifying customer and client needs; supervision and facilitation of the routine performance of these functions and commissioning of advanced electronic systems and equipment.
Entry requirements:
Students should have completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent including Maths (any) and they should have completed the Swinburne English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Level 2 program with a teacher's recommendation for the required level of study or obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0 or a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 527 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5; or a TOEFL (Computer-based) minimum score of 196 (with Written Writing score of 4.5) or a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 71 with no band less than 20.
