Course description:

This course provides graduates with the skills and knowledge to become successful musculoskeletal therapists. The course includes detailed studies in all areas of musculoskeletal anatomy, massage, assessment and management of musculoskeletal injury, dysfunction and disability, clinical practice, and interpersonal skills. The Musculoskeletal Therapist is a holistic health professional who gives particular attention to the relationship of muscles and fasciae to structural and neurological aspects of the body in health and disease, and is educated in the relevant basic and clinical sciences as well as in related health subjects. The Musculoskeletal Therapist can significantly contribute to the fields of pain management, acute and chronic injury, and rehabilitation.

Entry requirements:

Students must have a successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent (eg. GCE, Advanced Level or Diploma course). Mature students (18 years of age and over) may be admitted to a course without meeting the formal academic requirements. If they have any relevant work experience or other acceptable qualifications students can be admitted for the course. Students must have a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (paper based test) or 213 (computer based test). They must have International English Language Test (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.0 which is valid only for two years and an academic test only will be accepted.
