Course summary

This course is the standard qualification for the hairdressing industry and all course units will be assessed in a workplace environment or in their college simulated hairdressing salon. It offers breadth, depth and complexity of knowledge and competencies covering selecting, adapting and transferring skills and knowledge to new environments. It provides the students with the technical advice and early leadership skills for problem resolution. Such skills can be applied across a range of roles in a variety of contexts and some complexity of choice of options available. The students will be able to perform across a defined range of skills within a broader range of activities than in Certificate II in Hairdressing, involving set routines, methods and procedures. The students will be able to use their own judgment and discretion in equipment selection, services or contingency measures all within known time constraints.

Entry requirement for international students

Student must be aged 18 and above to apply for this course. Year 10 (VIC) or equivalent Australian or international qualification as recognized by the College educational authorities such as the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training, or an English level of IELTS 5.5 (no band below 5.0) or TOEFL 540, or the College’s English Language proficiency test, or an English proficiency of intermediate level or above from college or a NEAS accredited ELICOS course, or a degree from a recognized international university majoring in English Language of literature or wholly conducted in English medium.
