Course description:

This course is a nationally accredited course designed to introduce students to the many career opportunities available for 3D artists, animators and designers. This course is an introduction into the range of skills involved in creating 3D art. Students will be taught modelling, animating, texturing and rendering using 3D Studio Max. Students will also learn the basics of creating 2D art using Adobe Photoshop and basic video editing using Ulead MediaStudio or Adobe Premier. The Certificate III course is particularly relevant for anyone who wishes to establish a skills base for further training in 3D graphics for games and film or as a portfolio boost for existing graphic design professionals.

Entry requirements:

As an introductory level course there are no pre-requisites for entry. Students will require the following to complete the online course: Internet connection (Broadband recommended), Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator or similar, 3D Studio Max 6, 3D Studio Max 7, 3D Studio Max 8 or 3D Studio Max 9, Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Photoshop 6 or 7 or Adobe Photoshop CS, CS2 or CS3 Ulead video studio 6+ Audacity sound editor (FREE Download), Word processing software (MS Word, open office, etc). Applicants must have an IELTS Overall Score: 5.5 (with a minimum score of 5.0 for Writing, and 6.0 for Listening). Students who do not meet the English requirements will be given a Provisional Letter of Offer. In this situation they will be required to enroll in a suitable English language course prior to commencing their studies at AIE.
