I came to study at Macquarie Uni thanks to the recommendation from my friend. The most important advice I could give to international students is that Commerce is a very hard discipline. Try hard to study and hopefully you will be successful in your chosen areas.
I was assisted by IDP, so everything was very easy for me. I received all kinds of assistance that I needed. I think the selection process was not easy. You need to prepare everything the paperwork requires. It is very troublesome.
No funding or scholarship for me. My dad prepared all the financial sides for me. I just needed to concentrate on my studies.
The course was very value for money. The best bits are that I would like to study in a multinational environment, and talked to people from all walks of life. The lecturers and tutors are very understanding to the needs of international students. They offered help to me whenever I needed.
The university facilities are very modern,. though Macquarie uni is a bit far from the city centre. The fellow students and I got on very well with each other. Accommodation was very expensive, in my opinion. It was not easy to find part time work. I did not joined any clubs or societies.
My job prospects have definitely increased thanks to my studies. I will be keeping in touch with all of my friends in the course/
