I have really enjoyed my university experience. Advice I would give is dont think you cant work in you industry until you graduate because you can get out there and get experience in you industry and get paid as soon as you begin. The experience puts you way ahead of the competition when seeking employment and you wont be broke!
Selection process and gaining admission
I found it easy to get in. I just worked hard and the UAI i needed. I know there are other ways to get in though. A few of my mates got in through early entry. If you get in through early entry alot of the stress is taken out of the final year of school but you dont have the flexibility to change your mind.
Funding and scholarships
I am not aware of scholarships. Engineering is a pretty well subsidised course though.
Your study experience
I have really enjoyed my course. The best bits were the subjects examining race car dynamics and the worst was probably the thesis. Every engineering degree requires a thesis on a given topic. This is very hard and time consuming. I have studied more this year than any other because my thesis is due soon. I do receive the support i need mostly from fellow students. My course is excellent value for money.
Your life experience
The facilites are good. I dont live around the uni so I make use of them much. The local area is great. I still live at home. I have a job in the engineering field already so I dont need part time work. I am not in any clubs.
Job prospects
My job prospects are excellent I have a job waiting for me already but even if i change my mind there is so much work for engineers at the moment. Best option would be to work in a mine as the pay is amazing. I am not sure what i will do yet.
