Coming to Australia was a big thing, because not everyone gets the opportunity to come here and study, My advice to the students is that they should chose their course and institute well, this will help them in the future. Don’t waste money unnecessarily and try to save.
I applied through an agency. I had to do some paperworks, like funds to show that I could pay my fees, etc. Sit for English test, medicals. The entire process was not so hard and not so easy.
No scholarships from the uni here, but yes I receive scholarship for my course from the college in my country.
I have already done horticulture bachelor degree in my country. I wanted to get more experience in an international country so I came here to study. The study procedures are different and so is the approach. It is much more advanced than what I was used to. It took me some time to get used to it. The teachers were like friends and have a very open attitude. I am enjoying every bit of my classes.
We have library, bookshop, internet, café and student lounge for the students to use. Finding a job is a problem. I work casually, there are lot of websites from where we can get jobs and it helps if you have got good contacts too. I live with my friends and rent is cheaper. The area where we live is not safe though, I live in the western suburbs and traveling alone at night is not recommended. I hardly get time for myself to relax, watch movies, surf the internet. Life is busy here and be prepared to work hard.
I hope to get a job soon and that too a good one with the amount of investment and time put in my studies, I am expecting a lot in the future.
