This university is happening.I found this university open to diverse culture and serving students from all walks of life. The best suggestion i can give you is you need to get involved with the university life and take part in activities and mix with people. So that you can have a good and enjoyable life and the whole experience can be worthwhile.
Selection process and gaining admission
I did not do much research before selecting a university but i got offer from three different universities and did a little bit of research work and choose deakin.Deakin is the only university i suppose which offers dual degree so you can specialize in two fields. The selection process was very simple.I took help from my local counselor who helped me with visa process. For future students i would recommend that apply for a university and your visa at least 3 months before for a smooth and sailing process.
Funding and scholarships
Not enough opportunities available for international students who want to apply for scholarship as they are limited and is on first come first basis if you meet the criteria. My education is being funded by by my parents as of living expenses i am able to work.
Your study experience
Deakin offers one of the best courses in this field and the structure of course is according to guidelines which are set by accounting bodies in order to successfully do CPA or CA.The standard set by the university is high so you will need to study hard to get good results. In order to achieve this the university provides students with extra tutorials and study support. The course is very valuable according to current industrial needs.
Your life experience
Deakin has one of the best faculties in business studies. And is renowned in a lot of countries.I have not travelled much around the country due to study and work commitments. The university help you with accommodation and there are lot of advertisement on the notice board and is never an issue. You can find part time jobs according to your qualities. The student union are very supportive and are always ready to give advice and a helping hand when needed.I have joined DUSA
Job prospects
I don't think studies made much difference by increasing my job prospects but the exposure provided by them had definitely made me aware of what is needed for being successful.I keep in touch with alumni body as they are a good source networking and building relationship.I did attend a few gatherings and have made quite a few friends.
